This is the trail leading to 69 palms oasis. It's unbelievable the contrast from desert to water and life.
Sitting in the shade of 69 palms oasis. This one had a pool that looked so refreshing after the long, hot hike. There weren't any trees besides these for miles and miles.

I had heard of oasis' in stories, but had never actually seen one. It was amazing. You are strolling along in the dry, hot, desert and come to a spring with palm trees and water.

Grandpa Muir, Jeremy, and the kids just down from the Oasis.

It doesn't look that high from the top, however this crack in the rock with the climbing rings was pretty fun to come upon. We thought we were taking a leisurely hike through the desert. The wall full of holes was part of this same trail.

What a child might look like in an egg. This wall was full of holes and the kids couldn't resist climbing in them.

Don't ask me why we didn't get out and stand in the picture. Jer took me to Leadville, Colorado and we had some fantastic Filet Mignon at a place called Quincy's. In fact it was the only thing on their menu. But for $8 I got a baked potatoe, salad w/dressing, homemade bread, and filet mignon that melted in my mouth.

Jeremy and Neal hiked 4 peaks in 4 days. That's dedicated....or something.

This lion was much nicer than he looked. Ok, maybe he seemed that way because I was not the tamer on the inside of the cage with him.

The circus was in town. It really was, however Will and Mary also came with us.

The potatoe pie made us skeptical. Still we choked it down. It wasn't that bad if you thought about chicken pot pie. It was more the fact that it looked like a beautiful apple pie.

Drinking buttermilk the way Grandma Snow used to. Ugh. I was so proud of Ashlyn. She took one for the team.

Can you believe a 7 year old wanted cheesecake for her birthday cake? The wavy candles were fun...but they look huge on the cheesecake. Still, I think she loved it.
